FAQs

Am I eligible for Medicare?

  • Must be a U.S. citizen for at least 5 years

  • Legally worked in the U.S. for at least 10 years

  • 65 years old OR permanently disabled and drawing SS disability benefits for at least 24 months

  • Diagnosed with ALS

  • Diagnosed with end stage renal disease resulting in dialysis or  awaiting a kidney transplant

When should I enroll?

The initial enrollment period is a 7 month window. It includes the 3 months before your 65th birthday, the month of your 65th birthday and the 3 months after your 65th birthday. Enrolling during this window avoids any late enrollment penalty.

What if I am still working at 65 and have employer group insurance?

If you have creditable PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE with your employer health insurance, and your employer has over 20 employees, you can delay enrollment in Parts A & B (Original Medicare) without penalty. When you retire you can sign up for those parts during the month you or your spouse (whomever carries the insurance) quits working or the month the coverage ends - whichever comes first.

Medicare questions

Do I have to sign up for Parts A & B before I can enroll in an Advantage Plan, Supplement or Prescription Drug Plan?

Yes! If you have met the eligibility requirements you can sign up here. Once you receive your Medicare card in the mail, I can enroll you in the appropriate Part C (Medicare Advantage), Part D (prescription) or Supplement plan(s).

What is the Annual Enrollment period?

Every Oct 15 - Dec 7. This time frame is when you can sign up for Medicare if you missed your 7 month initial enrollment window upon turning 65, or if you already have a Medicare Advantage Plan or Supplement and wish to change your plan.

Can you also help me find a life insurance or burial policy?

Absolutely! I can help you find a policy that fits both your needs and budget.
